Save one life at a time
Wanted to share a happy experience at Mohave County Animal Control today. While there to transfer a dog to Western AZ Humane Society, the young pup (about six months) slated for the transfer was adopted in the lobby by Lisa and her son (picture attached). They fell in love with him when they saw his bright smile and waggin' tail. He is at home tonight in a soft bed with a full tummy and lots of love. His name is Max. Thanks, Lisa!!!

With Max adopted, a different dog that was slated for euthanasia was saved.  Roxie, a two year old ridgeback mix was transferred. Roxie was abandoned by her owners when they moved to Flagstaff. Her time was up - but now it is not.  Roxie was well received at Western AZ and may be in the next Friends from the Pen program (unless adopted before then:-))

We thank Burt Rister at Mohave County Animal Control who worked with us diligently to select and transfer Roxie and handle Max's adoption.

Right now, in Mohave County 275 healthy dogs and 350 healthy cats are being destroyed each month, (and that's not counting the unhealthy ones.)  If you want a pet, one of these healthy pets is right and hoping for you to save its life.
